The brilliancy prize in the Nottingham Master Tournament was awarded to Mr A. Burn for his game against Mr Taubenbaus.
A match will shortly take place between Mr A. Burn and Mr J. H. Blackburne, the blindfold champion of the world. Both tied for first prize in the late London tournament. Ireland v. Scotland. — A correspondence match between Ireland and Scotland with 52 plavprs a side has iust been commenced. British Che's Association. — Th« Maharajah of Trnvancore has contributed £20 toward* the prize funds, and Mr G.Newnes. M.P , proprietor of Tit Bits, hat given a hanrlnome silver enp to the winner of the Amateur Championship Tonrniment. The next meeting will take* place at Liverpool. Dablin Chess Club.— The game is flourishing \p, the Irish Metropolis, and 60 members are exywM to compete in tho annual tournament.
