The Wyllie-Bryden Match.
This has proved another decisive victory for the veteran, for we learn from the Now York Turf, Field and Farm that the final score was —Wyllie, 4; Bryden, 0; drawn, 16. To the Turf, and Glasgow Weekly Herald we are indebted for the following games of this interesting match : — Game 878—" Denny." First game, played at Glasgow, Scotland, Aug. 28, 1886, in the match, between Messrs Wyllie and Bryden.
(a) In the match for the Canadian championship, between Messrs Fleming and Jacques, January 1867,5 Mr Fleming played 25 22, 11 15, 27 24 and won the game. " Janvier's Anderson " gives the same play for a draw.
Game 879— •• Denny."
After about 70 more moves Mr Wyllie admitted the draw. He has three kings against two kings and a single man brjing to force an exchange when he would win by the " First Position," but the stubborn defence of White reflects the greatest credit on Mr Bryden in drawing the game. (a) Bad, if not an actual loss, 18 15, 11 18, 23 14 gives White a good game.
