Wellington, August 3. l'he barque Kentish Lass left for Cambridge Gulf this morning:, taking 80 passengers bound for Kimberley. Mr Alex. Smith, managing director of the United Importers' Company, was a passenger by her, taking with him a large consignment of general meri chendise for Wyndham as a speculative venture.
TIMAHU, August 4. It has been dgeidtd to make another attempt to float the ship Lj-fctelfcon by means o the " bladder process," as the decks were found this morning to be somewhat injured by the caisson breaking aarift. This afternoon a heavy sea has been running, and tbe wreck has been swept fore and aft by tremendous seas. It lies so much submerged, lunvever, that but little damage can really be done to the hull.
