J. 11. Kiwouk, grain and produce broker, reports under date May 5 as follows :— Wheat.— Supplies of good millihg quality arc uot in excess of the demand, and recent quotations are well maintained. Tuscan wheat of milling quality is wanted, un<l would command up to 3slod; white velvet, :is Sd to 3a ild ; rod straw, 3s Gd to 3s 7^d ; fowl teed. 3s to 3s <ld. Oats.— Large supplies have been coming to hand, and nlnpping facilities being limited the outlet has not been large. I quote best milling at Is lid to 2i ; bright, short feed, )s 10.UI; ordinary feed, Is 9d t,o Is i£.l. Barley. — The market is quiet, and best malting only fetches 3s to 3s 3d; milling, 2s 6d ; feed, 2s 3d <o2s<M. Chaff.— The excessive supplies reported last wepk arc now pre t.y well worked off, and there is room for goml quality at, £3 2s (id to £3 ss. Ordinary sells at &■> 17s (id to £3. Potatoes. -Stocks on hand are still pretty full, and the demand beiiitj confined to local wants prices have nut improved. I quote Derwents at £3 to £3 ss. Grass Seeds. -Market, quiet; quotations nominally the same as last week. | Butter.— Fresh, 9d for mixed lots, and lid to Is for known brands ; sail . 9d to 9UI Chee.se.— sj-'1 too ftl. Eggs. — Is Ski; sales blow. Turnips.— 2os per ion for swedes. These quotations are ex store or at railway, and in wholesale quantities.
