The business of the week has been of an average class. Advices from outside markets have not been reassuring, but local values have been iairly well maintained. This bears out the probability of a short harvest generally in wheat. The shipments during tlie week, both intercolonial and otherwise, have been iully up to the average, the bulk ot the Home shipments being tdken lorthe convenience ot freight. Tuscan h.is ready sale, but samples offering are not plentiful ; prices are 3s 5d to 3s s£d. Hunter's and pearl have buyers at 3s 4£d for prime lines. Shrivelled lots are more difficult to quit, except for chichen wheat ; prices of the latter being firm at 2s lid to 3s Id. Oats are coming forward in large quantities, and buyers have a difficulty in placing them except bright heavy milling, which are saleable at 2s to 2s Id. Short te j d are dull at Is lid, and Danish at Is lOd. Barlt-y is still on the decline, and maltsters are full, and outside markets leave no marpin ior shippers. Extra choice hues, however, are still taken up at 3s 3d ; medium are hard to quit at 2s 9d to 3s. 'Feeding sorts are iairly saleable at 2s to 2s 3d. Beans have seen a good business, and prices have closed firm at 2s 10d to 2s lid. Pease, however, are neglected ; blues remain at 3s 9d ; other kinds bring 2s Od to 3s. Kye grass and cocksfoot have had a quiet week at last weeks quotations. Derwent potatoes have been lreel> dealt, in during the week, and prices have settled down t o -10s at country stations (sacks extra), Dany produce has agajn steadied, but prices are barefv so high as a month ago.
