SI'KIMTZ V. ZUKERTOKT. It will be remembered that the result of the play in New York was Zukertort four games, and Stenitz one game. According lo one of the conditions of the match, the next series ot games were to be played at St. Louia. Inese have now taken place, and, greatly to Uk> astonishment of chess-players generally, Ur Zukertort has not managed to score a game. Four games wore played in St. Louis, Stenntz winning three, the other beingdnn vn Ihe scores being now equal, great interest will be taken in the final round, which is to come oft in New Orleans The winner of the first 10 games secures ' the 2000dol elokes and the coveted honour ot the championship of the world ; but should their scores be niiiegameseach.thematch is to bo declared drawn. Drown games do not count The fact of Stcmitz improving his score so much in the second encounter makes it very probable that he will win the match, as he is said to be now in good " fighting form."
