The Autumn meeting of the New Brighton Racing Club was held to-day. The weather was fairly good and the attendance moderate. Over £2000 was put through the totalisator. The results of the principal events were as follow : —

To-day, being the 45th anniversary of Taranaki, is being observed as a general holiday, and the town is tilled with visitors from all part*, the steamers from Auckland adding nearly 200 to tho number of excur.-ionihts, while the train from Wangiinui w»s full. At the back of the course Cinderella and Armourer improved their positions. Bayard led past the stand the second time, with' Victory and Cinderella close up. At the raile-and-a-half post Speculation dropped to the rear. Coming over the hill Vitoriac got the lead, and had it to finish, winning by two lengths from Bayard, with Cinderella third, Armourer fourth, Victory fifth, Speculation last. Time, 3min 50 l-6sec.
