/From Oor Own Correspondent. ) Beefton, January 24. Keep-it-Dark.— Although the Inangahua Eiver is now lower than it has ever been since the settlement of Inangahua, this Company has still sufficient wafer to keep the battery going. The returns for ,tke past week were 2820z of amalgam. No other battery in the field can crush till rain comes. The Inangahua River is so low that it can be walked over dryshod at almost any point. This evening the barometer ciaods at " very dry," and the water famine is becoming a most serious matter. Wells which have hitherto furnished an abundance of water for domestic use at a depth of 16ft h&vapeen increased to 25ffc in depth, and the water has ran out.
