THE LONDON WOOL MARKET
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agoncy Company have received the following wool telegram from their London office:—" The sales closed at an average improvement of id per lb on last bale's prices, except line crossbred, for which the market is, however, tinner, and Inmbswool, the market being irregular. 2i'.000 hnlos new clip Austral an have* been sold; this clip is below avciage. Competition by both Home and foreign buyers is aothe. The sales comprise about 132.000 bale's ; 18,000 have been withdrawn, 800 have been taken for America, and 64,000 for the Continent."
Messrs Dalgety and Co have received the iollowing cablegram lrom their head office, dated London, December 5, 1885:— "Fitth series of Colonial wool sales closed with moderate selection. Attendance of buyers laige. and competition animated. Total quantity held over for nevt, snles 18,000 bales in all." The British and New Zealand Mortgage and Agency Company ha\e leceivcd the following wool telegram from Messrs Helmuth, Schwarlze, and Co., dated London, 4tli inst. : — " The sales closed without, further change. Total sold, 132,000 biiles ; taken for export, 66,000 bales; held over, 18,000 bales Date of commencement of next series not yet fixed."
