(Reuter's Telegrams.) London, July 13. Three per cent, consols are g higher.
Tenders for the loan of £300,000 at 5 per cent, for the Napier Harbour Board, the minimum of which has been fixed at par, were opened to-day, when the total amount of the tenders was found to be £1,300,000. Tenders at £104 Is 3d will receive 30 per cent, of their application ; above that in full.
July 14. The. Hon. F. Stanley, Secretary for the Colonies, in an interview to-day with the Colonial Agents-general, promised to ask Lord Lyons, British Ambassador at Paris, to continue his efforts for the protection of Australian interests with regard to the recidiviste question.
July 15. It is currently stated that the Pacific Mail Company's service between Sydney, Auckland, and San Francisco will be withdrawn in November next, when the present agreement expires, the reason being that the Colonies of New South Wales and New Zealand are unwilling to contribute the subsidy.
It is announced that Colonel Sir R. J. LloydLindsay, V.C., M.P. for Berkshire, has been elevated to the peerage. The Munster Bank (Limited), which has branches in the principal towns in the South of Ireland, has suspended payment.

Lord Wolseley, on his return from the Soudan, met with a most enthusiastic reception. The Times, in an article on the proposed New South Wales loan, considers it unwise to borrow at present, but it is of opinion that the attemjjt made at bullying, by financiers should be resisted. The leading dealers in stocks denounce the protest made by the brokers. The placing on the market of the New South Wales loan has, been delayed pending the fixing of the minimum.
The Times states that New South Wales will have little difficulty in obtaining the new loan, despite the protest of the city brokers.
