Schools of Agriculture.
The following notices of motion for tho next meeting of the University Council have beon given by M.r Macao dcew :—: — 1, "It is desirable that Ihuco nhould he established in Ohapfo at least three model farms or Bchonls of agriculture. One in the northern, anothor in tho central, and a third in the southwestern district."
2. "Thai; the establishment of such schools would bo a legitimate and proper object towards which to apply a fair proportion of the resources of the Otago University." 3. ' • That the outlay involved in the establishment of such schools shall not much, if any, excoed the first cost of the necessary land, buildings, implemants, and live stock, inasmuch as the produce of the farm and fees should, under good management, go far to cover the annual expenditure."
4. " That a Committee be appointed to conside^ and report as to the whole subject, and that it be a direction to such Committee to confer with the Board of Governors of the High School and with the Education Reserves Commissioners with a view to ascertain to what extent, if any, those bodies would be disposed to co-operate with the University Council in giving effect to the foregoing proposal."
