MR JAMES GREEN AT SEACLIFF.

- . Mr James Green addressed a well-attended meeting of electors at the Bchoolhouse, Seacliff, on Thursday evening ; Mr Crawford iv the chair. Mr Green gave his reasons for supporting t the late Government, as also those for opposing the return of a majority pledged only to resist any Government formed by Major Atkinson, without in any way indicating which of the numerous leaders they would follow. In answer to questions he said he declined to give his opinion as to why Messrs Stout, Brad,sbaw, and Duncan held a different opinion, to his own in regard to the cancellation of Borthwick's -and Hertslet's licenses. He had no .reason to doubt they voted on the question in accordance with their judgment. He was not there to give reasons for others' votes, but would justify his own * as being his mature judgment, based entirely on the evidence given before the Board.
