Beefton, January 23. Inkerman Company.— The local directors met lasi night to consider tenders for the cjnatruetion of tramway and paddo.-k. A laree number were scut in. Th» tender of J Qui,»ley for the section of tramway from the battery to the foot of the incline was accepted, asalao the tender of J. M'Williams for the section of tramway from rhe main ehafc to the head of this incline. The price is> not stated. It was decided 111 1 invite fresh tendera for the construction of the incline tramway, the offer sent in for the work being irregular The tenders are invited to-day. Phconix and Inglewood Good headway is now being made with the erection of the battery, and it ia now thought that the contract will be out of hand by tho middle of March.
The Welcome battery ia now 3n full swing, bu6 nothing ia known as to the probable yield. Thu interim scraping of the plates will take place 01a Saturday, which will tell Its own tale.
