COURSING.

'The, Oamara Farmers' Coursing Club have raised their annual subscription to a guinea. At a. meeting of the Committee, held last week, a letter was read from the Secretary to the North Otago Club, asking the Fanners' Olab,tb co-operate with them in the establishment of a plumpton ; but it was resolved that »6 action .be taken in the matter pending inquiry into further particulars. The Chairman stated that the Club numbered 40 members, 10 more having been proposed. Mr N. Fleming wrote accepting the presidency of the Club. Meiara, J. M'Lean and A. M'Master were aleeted. hpn. members, and the meeting terminated. ' /At 'a meeting of the North Otago Club, held subsequently, Mr Moss was in attendance, to discuss the, advisability of establishing a pliimpt'on-f/round on the Oamaru racecourse reserve, and stated that the lessees of the racecourse would render every assistance in the matter. Mr Hill announced his intention, of presenting a cup to the winner of the Vlee^presidentV btake, to be run on 21st of Jane., At the annual meeting of the Southland Cuub the balance-sheet^ which showed a debit balance of, some £25 odd, was adopted, and it T?as ( decided to hold a preliminary meeting early in May, the events to number two— viz., 10 dog stakes for puppies and all aged dogs. The election of officers was deferred until the settlement of the question of the amalgamation of the Tapanui and Southland Clubs, now under consideration by the members of the two eittba.

'l'ha programme has been issued (says Tuesday's Oamaru Mail) for the first meeting of the Farmers' CoufsingL:Club. It comprises a Derby Stakes of £3 3s each, and an All-aged Stake of £3 8e each, the latter being open to members of the Club only. The entries to both stakes will close on Saturday, 19th May, and the meeting will be held on the 21et May and following days.
