At a meeting of the Dunedin Draughts Club hold on Monday night Mr W. O. Duthie suggested that

Tho idea was favourably received by those present.— The President co-gr&tnlated thoie present on the bright pro-pecs of the Club. There arc now 30 members, and b fore long it is anticipated that the number will be largely increased, when once it bocomos known that the Club possesses such comfortable quarters. The inach committee of the Easter Tournament havo resolved to expend the Aurplug lU' ds, amounting to about £5, in the purchase of suitable beoks for presentation to Mr James S. Wilson, «f Dunedin, and Mr David Miller, of tumaru, who tied for first place, and to Mr Robert Boswell, of Christchurch, who was next in order of merit. These mementoes o( their prowess will no doubr. bo hi«hlv prized by them.
