LAND BOARD.
The ordinary meeting of the Land Board was held on Wednesday. Present : The Chief Commissioner (Mr Maifcland), Messrs Bradshaw, Clark, Duncan, Green, and Stout.
LAND TO BE SOLD AT LAUDER,
Mr V. Pyke, M.H.R., brought before the Board a memorial from 30 intending settlers on the Lauder block suggesting that the land should be dealt with at once ; that if a sale took place it should be held at Blacks; and that some of the land should be disposod of under the perpetual leasing system. The Chief Commissioner said a survey had been completed, and the plan was about to be sent to the Government. Ho understood it was the intention of tho Government to dispose of the land under the perpetual loasing system. If a aale by public auction was necessary, he would remember the suggestion that it should take place at Blacks.
PURCHASE UNDER AGRICULTURAL LEABE.
Messrs Robert Gillies and Walter Hislop applied to purchase, under agricultural lease, section 3], block I, Highlay. — Recommended for approval of Government. CANCELLATION OF CERTIFICATE, BLACKBTONE.
The following certificate of application was declared void : Luck M'Alister, soction IS, block VII, Blackstone.
DAM RESERVE, OHATTOX. Messrs Connell and Moodie (on behalf of Daniel M'Kay) applied to purchase the dam reserve, block 11, (Jhatton district. — Referred to the ranger for report, and to see the adjoining proprietors.
CAPITALISATION OF DEFERRED PAYMENTS.
The following applications wero gianted :—: — John Shoehan, section 11, block IX, Tuaneka West ; Pat. Fahey, section 4, block XIII, Tuapeka West. PURCHASE OF DEFERRED - PAYMENT SECTIONS. The following applications were approved :—: — Mark Morton, section 8, block VI, iioek-and-Pillar ; T. W. Halloway, section G, block V, Kurow.
ROAD-LINE, BLAOKSTONE. Tho Maniototo County Council requested that a road should be recorded through section 2 and along the northern boundary of sections 2 and 3, block X, Blackstone.— Referred to the Chief Surveyor. APPLICATIONS TO PURCHASE AT IDA VALLEY
AND TABLE HILL.
Messrs Connell and Moodie (on behalf of Robert M'lntosh) applied to purchase 30 acres at Ida Valley.— Granted. An application by Andrew and John M'Laren to purchase 150 acres north of and adjoining section 17, block V, Table Hill district, was refused.
GOLD-MINING LEASE, CROMWELL. A gold-mining lease of Bection 22, block 111, Wakefield, was granted to the Cromwell Quartz-mining Company.
AURIFEROUS LAND, TUAPEKA EAST.
The Board considered the mode of dealing with portion of block VII, Tuapeka East, the land in that neighbourhood being considered auriferous. — The Warden recommended that the block should be let in two runs, and it was decided to ask him whether it would be judicious to make both the same bizo. EDUCATION RE&EIIV.E3, WAIKAIA AND WENDOJf. The upset prices of educational runs in Waikaia and Wendon were fixed at from £1 1» £2 10s per acre.
LAND TO BE SOLD AT OTEPOPO.
Messrs Connell and Moodie (on behalf of Dixon Peach) applied to have sections 94, 107, and 108, block I, Otepopo district, offered for sale for cash.— lt was decided to classify the sections as suburban, with the approval of the Government, and to offer them for sale at £5 per acre.
