BIRTHS, DEATHS, AND MARRIAGES
Announcements of the above from the country districts cannot be inserted in the Witness unleas they bear a signature authenticated either by the Registrar, a clergyman, or our local agent for the district ; and in all instances prepayment is necessary, the charge for insertion being 3s.
A strict adherence to this rule has been found absolutely necessary, in consequence of the frequent attempts that are made to procure the insertion of fictitious notifications.
