QUERIES.
A. H. writes :— ln Ward's " England's Reformation" the following lines occur, an explanation of which I should like to receive through the Notes and Queries column :— " Uolearned;thleve3 sometimes have got Propitious ncok-verse so by rote As to repeat it and not falter, To save condemned necks from halter," &c. A. B. C, Edendale, wishes to obtain a recipo for preparing bullock-hides (by removing the hair, &c.) for making whips, &c.
