After the parade a meeting was held for the election of a sub-lieutenant. There were three candidates— namely, Sergeant Melville, W. H. Robinson (late of the Ballarat Rangers)^ and Corporal R. H. Scott. The voting lay between the two last-named, and ,Corporal Scott' was declared elected by a majority of three. Various matters in connection with the review were arranged;, and afterwards the subject of Private Proyo's protest against Private E. R. Smith Joeing declared the winner of the Union Company's cup came up for discussion, but its final decision was eventually postponed till next monthly meeting.
