We are very well pleased with our crops tlila year. While not so heavy as those of last year, tn«y no on the other hand much clearer— that is to say. smut ana rust have not been prevalentto any appreciable extent. The average yield of oats 'will probably be about 45 bushels per acre, but I have seen on tho,Flat»few paddocks that would yield 70 bushels per acr» Not much wheat was jrrown here this year, but rn»t there ii of it is good. That most in vogue was the white velvet, and it seems to suit this district very well. 'During the months of February and Match turnl l* grew very well, so that now there are many Rood paddooks of this root ; .but they are thinner than they were last year, and there are more blanks.
