DUNEDIN PRODUCTS.

THE EXHIBITS AT THE FORTHCOMING CHRIST-

'CHURCH EXHIBITION. ' | Considerable dissatisfaction has been of. late expressed by intending exhibitors from Dunedin thatthe space demanded by them should havo been curtailed while so much was set apart for foreign exhibitors. The ExhibitioL purporting to be essentially a Colonial ;one. they claim that they are being unjustly treated in this respect by the promoters, who shoulo in preference have given them an opportunity of showing to the full extent whatever article* of local manufacture they ' might choosr to exhibit 1 . So far, however, Dunedin pro mises to be well represented!, as will bt seen from the following partial list of exhibi tors : — The New Zealand Woodware Factoric Company will show dining-room and | hal 1 suites in rimu, with other articles of high-class furniture ; while Messrs Findlay and Co. hay< entered for a variety of woodwork. Messrs Wilkinson and Co. and J. Neil exhibit medicines and Messrs Lane and Co.,Oarew, and T. N. Kessell, cordials, &c. Wool will be shown by Messrs Dalgety 1 arid Co., and a quantity oi Fowler's steam farming implements by Messrs Carter and Co. Mr Reading shows stamps, dies, and models; Messrs F. Singer and -'Co., linseed oils manufactured in Dunedin; Mr P. Newbury, biscuits ; and Messrs Schlaadt Bros,, machinery. A pony phseton and light single buggy have been entered by Messrs J. Messrs Haxton and Be^ttie, of Gore, will show their patent flexible! harrows ; and Mr A. Binnie, of Maori Hill, the animal carbon gas machine invented by him, and which we recently ' described., Mr Stevens has also entered a patent gas machine exhibited by him here, and a portable gas-engine. ' Morticing and other machines will be shown by Messrs Ivincaid, M'Quoen, and Co., and a tastefully-executed font by Mr G-. Munro. The Port Chalmers Quarry Company will forward specimens of their stone. Messrs Butter worth Bros, havo taken one bay for exhibition of rugs, &c. ; and New Zealand clothing will be shown by Messrs lLallenstein Bros, and Co. ; soap, candlns, stoarine, and glycerine have been entered by Messrs M'Leod Bros.; and soap by Mr Wills, of Burnside. Mr J. M'Donald, of- Milburn, will forward samples of lime, plaster, and applications thereof. ,' The whole of the oil required ' for lubricating the machinery at the Exhibition will be gratui- 1

tously supplied by Mr J. Harborow, "agent for a Home firm. MosSrs Thomson and Co. have entered for wines and cordials, and Mr N. Leves for specimens of glass-embossing, and ornamental painting. In leather, Messrs ;Farquhar and Co. will be large exhibitors,- and Messrs Barningham and Co. will show .grates, fretwork, and castings. Messrs Anderson and Morrison have entered for brass castings, gasfittings, &c. The principal Dunedin brewers have also entered for exhibition, and nearly the whole of the available wall space has been taken up by the photographers, who. promise to.- make a grand display in the Otago court. A very pretty exhibit will be a piece of work executed in seaweed and shells, by Mrs J. P. Jones. There are also a large number, of other exhibitors, but in many ; cases there exists a doubt as to whether they will have the intended exhibits ready in time forthe opening, while others are not . yet certain as ,to the nature of their articles j but there how seems little doubt that the Otago court wjll.be one of the best represented in the Exhibition, if not the best., , , ,
