BAGPIPE MUSIC.

TO THB BDITOB. Sir,— l am glad to see that Mr M. Elder has accepted my challenge. He also puts forth a fresh challenge, but I will deal with his acceptation of my challenge first. Of course he must have read it before accepting it. All I have now to do is to forward you my cheque for £5 (which I enclose) as a deposit, and which the sporting editor of the Witness will perhaps be kind enough to hold. I ask Mr Elder to do the same, and we can then arrange as to time and place of meeting, judges, &c. I trust, now that Mr Elder has advertised accepting my challenge, that he will come to the scratch, or else let him advertise a fresh challenge, and apologise for accepting mine.— I am, &c..

James M'Donald, Late Piper, 78th Highlanders,

March 22nd.
