Ranger Adair, reporting on the application of Mrs Meiklejohn for a reduction of the rent of Run 9a, Wakatipu depasturing district, stated that the only circumstance that had arisen since the run was sold likely to have a deteriorating effect was the great increase of rabbits on the land. ; , , WAIKAIA. The Warden at Lawrence recommended $hat sections 13 and 14, block I, Waikaia, containing about 206 acres, should bo cut up into sections of five acres each, and sold as suburban land for cash. He reported that a number of sections in the block had been applied for in November last, and refusedon account of the land being required for mining purposes. As that objection did not still exist, he recommended that sections 1 to 8, 23, 25, and 26 should be thrown open for application. The Mining Association wrote asking that sections 13, 14, 25, and 20 should be dealt with as suggested by the Warden, but that the other sections should be withdrawn from sale at present.— The recommendation of the Mining Association was adopted.
