A closely-contested match was played on the Oval on Saturday between Sargood's and the Kaikorai Cricket Clubs, ending in a victory for the latter by nine runs, the scores being—Sargood's, 55 ; Kaikorai, 64. For the former Disher (with 23) and Halfhide (10) were top scorers ; while Davie (20), Wilkinson (16), and T. Sonntag (15) filled the same situation for the Kaikorai. Ivitt bowled splendidly for Sargood's, taking eight wickets, as did G. Millar for the Kaikorai, he having taken four wickets for one run at a critical part of the game. A cricket match was played on the North ground on Saturday between the Waverley First and Albion Second Elevens, resulting in a win for the former by 15 runs. The scores were— Waverley, 85 ; Albion, 70. The only ones to obtain double figures were T. Henderson (38) and W. Spencer (19) for the Waverley, and H. Miller (28) and A. H. Shelton (16) for the Albions. The bowling of G. Arundel for the Waverley was very good, he obtaining five wickets for 14 runs.
