1 ANNUAL MEETING UNITED OTAGO IJISTBICT. The annual meeting of the United Otago

District A.O.F. was held at the Foresters 1 Hall, Port Chalmers, on the evening of February 24th. The District Chief Ranger (Bro. W. G. Geddes) occupied .' the' chair ; and in addition to the district officers, 18 delegate's from the several courtß of the district, together with a number vof members of the Order, were present. After the routine business of 'the meeting had been gone through; the auditors' ' report was submitted, which showed the financial position of this branch of the Order to be very flourishing. During the last 12 months there had been an increase of jlB3 members, the total number now on ; the rpUs • being 1302, and the number of coiirtsfl!). Afterwards the election of new officers was 1 ; wpceeded with, and Bros. H. Youngman vks declared D.C.R.; W. G. Wilkinson, D.S.C R.; . ,W. Woodland, D.S.; J. Macfie, D.T.; J. White, D.8.; T. J. Goodman and G. L. , ABher, auditors. The meeting was then closed, and the district officers and delegates entertained at a banquet in the main hall, wl|ich had been appropriately decorated for /the occasion. Bro. J. B. Taylor, P.C.R., occupied the chair, supported by the principal distinct officers, P.C.R. Bro. J. Mill acting as croupier. After the cloth had been removed the usualloyal toasts were duly honoured, together with tho.se of the "United Otago District," "Court Robin Hood," the "District Executive, "Kindred Societies," "Delegates," and "Visitors." Several of the members rendered some excellent songs, and the health of the caterer, Bro. W. Waters, proposed by Bro. G. L. Asher, P.D.C.R., ter-' minated the proceedings. The Order, here is to be congratulated on its financial pos.it«jn, the total amount of its funds being £13,634 19s Id, being an increase of £848 3s Id for the year.' The amount of funeral claims paid during the last six months was £160.
