The Milburn Creek trial continues. The case for the defence is, finished, and Mr Dalley v counsel for the defendants, is now addressing the jury. Sydney, February 26th. The trial of Messrs Waddell, Baker, and Matheson for conspiring to defraud the shareholders of the Milburn Creek Company was concluded to-day. The jury, however, disagreed as to the verdict and were discharged. The accused were bound over to appear at next sessions. I Sydney, February 27th. The ketch was sunl^ a&d one of her orew was drowned. MELBOURNE, February 23rd. The Riwslaji Admiral Aslanbegoff has comruiwioated with the . Victorian Government regarding the publication in the Melbourne Age of a fictitious dispatch from the Russian Government regarding the defences of Hobson's Bay. The dispatch, it appears, was published; as a joke. The Admiral, however, oppressed to the Government his annoyance at, its publication, and it has transpired that the Governor and Ministers have expressed their regret and furnished an explanation to Admiral Aslanbegoff regarding the alleged dispatch, Walker, a Constitutionalist, has been elected for Boroondara, in place of Mr Murray Smith, appointed Agent-general in London.
