MINING NOTES.
Mr J. F. Watson reports for the week onding 7th July :-
Reefton.— The Keop-it-Dark Company's amalgam for the week was 3470z. from 222 tons of stone. A dividend of 6d, equal to £500, was declared. The United Alpine Company's return for five weeks' crushing was 6190z. of gold, giving a dividend of 9d per 32,000 th share. The Energetic Company's lower level is widening out, and shows remarkably good gold, and 20 head of stamps are employed crushing stone from the upper level. The Golden Fleece Company will within two months reduce a large parcel of stone, and the prospects are most encouraging. The Just in-time Company will crush a small parcel of stone this week. The Fiery Cross Company's mine is looking well. Bendigo Gully.- The Cromwell Company's return was 140oz. of gold.
Hindon. — Nothing new to report from this district,
Keep-it-Dark, 14s ; Welcome, 37s 6d ; Homewardbound, 5s Od ; Gladstone, 10s ; Tipperary, £15 ; Cromwell, 325 ; New Caledonia, 4s 9d.
