The debate on the Reform Bill in the Legislative Assembly still continues. Sydney, June 2nd. News has been received, via the Solomon Islands, that the foreign immigrants for New Ireland are in great distress and suffering from fever and ague, from which four deaths have already resulted. Forty-five of the party have removed to Duke of York Island. Six weeks after the party landed on New Ireland only three were capable of exertion. The rest were prostrated with fever and severe ulcers peculiar to the island. They possessed no quinine with which to allay their sufferings. Their supplies of provisions, too, were quite insufficient, the Ohaudernagnore having sailed suddenly after a dispute as to who should be leader of the party on shore, and left them without sufficient food.
