Waste Lands Board.
I The weekly meeting of the Land Board on Wednesday was attended by Messrs J. P. Maitland (chairman), H. Bastings, 0. S. Reeve 3, H. Clark, and J. Green. The following business was transacted :— KUBOW. Mr 0. H. Leece, licensee of deferred-pay-ment Hection 7, block 11, Kurow, wrote that he did not intend occupying the section, which was agreed to be opeued for fresh application. D. Scott was granted a license of live acres for coal-raisiog purposes, adjoining his present area, which wa3 woikfd out. CATLIN'S EIVEB, The Oatlin's River Sawmill Company applied for 20 acres in block VI, Glonoraaru, for sawmilling purposes. — License ordered to issue for three years, at a rental of 7a per acre per annum. PRESERVATION INLET. Protection for six months was granted to Messrs Murray and M'Kenzie to prospect on Coal Island, Preservation Inlet, for coal and other minerals. VINCENT COUNTY. The County Council applied that the south? rn 35 .acres of sections 20 aud 23, block 111, Lander, should be reserved for gravel purposes. — It was agreed to suggest to the Council that a smaller area should be selected, and to reserve the sections from sale meantime. DEFERRED PAYMENTS. The following applications were approved :—: — Td lease— George Banger, section 15, block IX, Greenvale ; James Crawford, section 50, block VI, G-lenkenioh. To purchase — John Lomas, section 8, block VIII, Crookston ; John Brown, section 44, block VI, Glenkenich. Licenses were ordered to issue as follows :—: — Henry Clark, section 4, block I, Budle ; Andrew Bit, section 3, Alfred Brown, section 7, and Alex. Deans, section 11 — all of bloc'? 111, Mount H/vde; Thomas FJannery, section 2, block X, Pooltmrn ; Daniel Montgomery, sec tion 14, block VIII, town of Kelso; Fred. Benfdl aud Aquila BenWl, sections 27 and 28, 25 and 26 (to bo grouped), block Xli, Kelso. BENGEE. An application by Thomas HU'ga to pur- | chase aa acre of section 3, block XIV, Benger, for a pound site, was referred to the District Land Officer for report. GLENKENICH. The deferred-payment licensee of section 22, block V, Glenkenich. not having cccupied same or fulfillel conditions, it was resolved to declare the license cancelled and to reopen the land for application. GOLD-MINING LEASES. The following certificates of application wero a'wroved : — Matthew Instone, section 29, block IX, Loogwood, and section 16, block XIX, Jacob's River Hundred ; Matthew Instone, section 17, block- XIX, Joeob's River Hundred ; the Mouutaiu Kane Gold-mining Company, sc-ction G, block VII, Lauderj Jo v m Mellor and John Martin, soction 7, block VII, Lauder. WOODLANDS, Protection for six months to prospect for coal was granted to 11. Andrew over blocka I and 11, Woodlands.
