MOA FLAT AND ETTRICK DOMAIN RACES.
Fikst Day— March 17th. These races took placo on Moa Flat, distant about eight miles from Roxburgh, and were well patronised. The waathar was all that could be deairsd. The Hospital Raca, for which over L 5 waa subscribed, waa wnn by Mr Baresfqrd's St, Vincen, Mr Moora'a Dolly Varden being second. Second Day.— Thursday, Mauuh 18th. ladies' purse, Of 10 guineas. One and a half-mile. Weight, lOst. Mr M'Phcrson's Tom King .. ..1 Mr M'Pherson's Glengarry .. ..2 Mr Bercsford's St. Vincent . . . . 6 Mr M'Paorson declared to win with Glengarry. Tom King was hard held until within a short distauce of the post, when he was let out and passed Glengarry with the greatest of ease. FARMERS' PLATE, Of 25 soys. Two miles. Mr Chaafe's Oberon, Ost 131b .. •> \ Mr Choafe's Atlantic, lOst .. •• * B Mountain Maid also ran, but running inside ths post immediately at the start, Ober on and Atlantic had it all their own way. Mr Ohaate declared to win with Oberon. HACK SELLING RACE, Of 10 soys. Mr Graham's Maritana baing the only entry, this race was passed over. HANDICAP RACE, Of 8 soys. One and a-half mile. Mr M'Pherson's Tom King, lOst . . 1 Mr Beresford's St. Vincont, Bst 71b . . 2 Mr Gray's Kate Kelly, 7st 81b .. . . 3 Mountain Maid also ran. Glengarry was scratched. HACK RACE. Of 7 soys. One mile. 10 stone. Mr Morgan's Red Brick . . . . 1 Mr M'Pherson's Mileta .. ..2 Mr M'Lelland's Stray . . . . 3 Five ran, and Red Brick won easily. CONSOLATION HANDICAP, Of 7 soya. One mile. Mr Wallace's Mountain Maid . . . . 1 Mr Gray's Kate Kelly .. -.2 Friction did not get away, having baulked and nearly thrown her riier at the start.
