HINDON. (FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.)
Want of water is the cry at present with the Hindon miners. At the New Caledonia Company's reefs, in Game Hen gully, the battery is hung up for want of water, but the Company hope soon to be able to resume business, as tenders have been called for cutting a race from Game Cock creek, a distance of two or three miles. The four days' crushing down at this battery, previous to the falling off of waiter will, the manager believes, average fully an ounce to the ton. The course of tho water race to Capb. Kenny's crualaer would seem to be tho difficulty with that Company. Prospecting is carried on with increased vigour in tho line of reefs that crosses Fraser's gully. The Just-in-Time Company have a shaft already sunk forty-two feeb with improving prospects. Numerous specks are easily vi&iblo in the stone. The alluvial, not less than the reef claims, feel the want of water. While they long anxiously for the coming shower they are preparing deligently for it.
