February 23rd.
A meeting cf the Blueskln School Committee tcok place on Saturday. Present — Mcsra Quayle (in the chiir), Hielop, Johneon, Forgnson, Charlton, and Wilson. The minutes of tho two previous meetintja were read and confirmed. A question arose as to the advisability of puttirg the compulsory clausc3 rf the Act Into operation, tho Obaitman stating that it required a resolution to that effect. Ultimately the matter wis lef t over until next meeting. It was resolved that the chairman and treasurer should sign alt cheques, and that the secretary seDd to the bankers a oopy of the clause in the Act referring thereto, with the names of those deputed so <o act. A'l vrork above 10i in .value it, waa decided to let by tender. It was movei by Mr Oharlton— "That the secretary write to the Education Board, urging them to proceed AS quickly as possible with tho erection of the new school." Mr Charlton stated that the new master was very muoh inconvenienced for want <f sufficient residential accommodation, and that his family had to put up with much discomfort in consequence. Tho motion was seconded by Mr Ferguson and carried. .. A'ho motion passed at last meeting appointing tbe and Mr Charlton a sub-committoe to arrange about putting up swings, having betn rescinded, Messrs E. Johnson and P. Wilson were appointed a nub-cominitteo to draw up specifications and call for tenders; the lowest not to be necessarily accepted by them Messrs Wilson and Johnson were appointed to visit the school next month, and, it was resolved i that the school should be closod on Good Friday until the following Monday week.
