Barryt Kuri Bush :— This year a Brighton farmer's crop consists of 40 acres of wheat, which will yield 33 bushels (worth 5/ per bushel) an acre, and 35 acres of oats, which will yield 40 bushels (worth 3/ per bushel). His seed wheat cost 5/6 per bushel, and his oats 2/1, and the amount of seed which he has sown to the acre is 2J bushels. The cost of ploughing and harrowing this land was 17/6 an acre, -and the harvesting, threshing, &c, will cost about £1 5/ an acre. How muoh will he clear p 180. By Fitz. Barry, Kuri Bush :— I learn that Wellington is 1236 miles from Sydney, and that the Union Steamship Company's steamers travel at the rate of 38 miles per iof a day. How long do they take to steam from the Empire City of Australia to the capital of New Zealand ?
