Shearing will commence in another week, and other works will absorb a large proportion of tne floating population. This month we quote ploughmen at £1 to 25s per week arid rations; general workers on farms, £4ft to £46 ; bl«cksmiths for stations, £2 per week with rations ; miners (plentiful), 8s to 10s per day; flrot-rate married couples, £70 to £90 ; housemaids, £35 to £40 ; navvies, 18 to 1« Id per hour; joiners, 10a to 12s (easy demand); wool-washers, £2 2s to £2 10s per week; sorters, 6i and upwards per bale ; wod classerg, £1 per thousand upward ; shearers, 16i to 18* upwards ; wool-roller», 163 to 18a per week and rations ; boys for picking fleeces, £1 and rations : boys of 14 from 7s to 8s per week ; nurse girls, 8« to 93.
