MILLENNIUM.
Far down the track of time I tee the worldMine •ye» are daszled by its perfectness. There God-like men, and women full of grace, Are never weary of a painless life. Gone it all g riering— it is sweet to lire. Daad are the old vague terrors— Good is God ; Substance hath vanquished shadow; Science lifts Her patient face, filled with a quiet joy To know that she hath saved the world and man. The deserts now are fertile, and the wastes Teem with glad life— the world is almost ripe. Science is reverenced now, for she hath brought The people out of darkness into light — Hath driven out hunger — slain the grim fiend WantHath taught the earth to need no sweating brows Ere she will feed her children from her breast. All things that live and more ars now at peace ; Each giveth to his brother, and in turn Hath but to atlc to haye — for Greed is dead. The cool, broad- breasted rivers now are clear, For toil being gone, the filth that comes with toil Ii also gone. The rich though unploughed soil Brings forth of all things more than man can
use. Great Wiidem, noble love, sweet purity Walk hand in hand through all the ways of nt«n, To whom the memory of these days of ours Is as a dream they dare not think upon.
