JUDSON POWDER.
On a recent date a blast of 25,0001bs of Judson powder was exploded in the Dardanelles Consolidated mining claim, at Forest Hill, Placer county. The Nevada Transoript describes the blast and its effect. It was in three different drifts and 12 chambers, the powder line being 85ft back of the faoe of the bank. The bank was about 200 ft high. The force of the explosion moved the entire mass, and bo pulverized and threw it, that » person can now walk directly over the faoe of it in any disection. A careful survey'ahows that 13 cubic yards of dfct •wtwf>rok«n to cneh pound of powder used. , On Next day another blast of the same powder waa fired in the Big Bonanza gravel mine at Gold Bun. According to the same authority, 17,500 pounds were used, and 166,000 cubio yards of {dirt put in readiness for washing.
