N B.—Being convinced that there must be a good many chess players in the country districts of New Zaaland who have no means of practice over the board, and who would gladly take part in a correspondence match, we ordered some time ago from Britain a few "Chess Sets" for their convenience- By this means games by correspondence can be carried on wth the greatest pleasure, for whenever a move is made, the miniature board cm be locked up without any danger of the men being displaced, thus saving the time and annoyance of playing over the game every time a move has to be made. Price, 63 6d each, free by post. The " Chess Editor " will be glad to receive the names of gentlemen desirous of eßgaging in a correspondence match, and will do all in his power to make the best arrangements possible.
