The Underwriters' Association have received a telegram dated London, May 14th, announcing the arrival of the Opawa from Lyttelton, and the Glenlora, Waimea, and Jessie Roadman. Auckland, May 21st. Arrived : Arabella, barque, from London, after a passage of 120 days. No passengers. Cbristchukch, May 21st. The New Zealand Shipping Company have received intelligence of the arr val, at London, of the Otaki from Port Chalmers. Monday's Lyttelton Times says :— " A vessel, we learn, waß seen floating, keel up, off the Ninety-mile Beach, near Ashburton, about a fortnight ago. At one time she was within about 40 chains of the shore, and he wind being off the land, there would have been no difficulty in getting a boat off to her had there teen one theie. One adventurous youth was so seiz-d with the desire of possessing himself of a prize, that he proposed swimming off to the vessel with a rope, in order to keep her from drifting away. He was, however, pro\ ailed upon not to make the attempt."
