CAVERSHAM ROAD BOARD.

The regular meeting of the Caversham District Road Board was held in the school house on Thursday evening. Present — Mr Rutherford, in the chair, Messrs Bridgman, U'Ren, Wilson, Jackson, and Langmuir,. The minutes of last meeting were read and confirmed. It was agreed to lease to Mr William Nicol the cottage i»nd ground occupied by him, on a six months' tenantry, with three months' notice, at an annual rental of L2O The Inspector reported that the repairs to Bay View Road would cost about L 25, and it. was resolved to ask the St. Kilda Council to forward their half of the cost to the Board, and to advise them that when this was done, the work would be at once proceeded with. It was agreed to call for tenders for the removal of the house at the end of the Glen Road, and then to put the road at that place in a prpper state of repair. The cleric was instructed to write to Mr White, to the effect that when he forwards a certificate from the , Inspector that he has expended L2B on the road leading to his works, the Board would pay him tne sum of Ll4, and to bring again under the n«iicr6f the City Corporation the filthy state of the ditch at the Recreation, Ground. Mr Bridgiu an undertook to, make arrangements with Mr G. Smith, with reference to handing over the Glen Road for the use of, the, public, and with Mr Smith and Mr Fulton, with reference to carrying' off the" water along Car'gill Road. The collector was .instructed to issue , a final notice that all-rates must, be paid on or before 7th •Jjune, and that legal proceedings be thereafter takea against defaulters. < It was resolved to ask Mr. Watt, as soon as the accounts are made up, to adjndicate between the Board and the municipalities of South Dunedin and St. Kilda. The Inspector was instructed to repair the Forbury Road- The clerk was instructed -to make .arrangements for holding elections to fill the place of retiring members. Several accounts were passed for payment, and the Board adjourned for three weeks.
