MOORE'S FLAT GRAVEL MINES.
The Nevada Transcript has been shown ■ a. very, complete, and. finely-executed map of the mining section in and abqut.Moore's Flat, drawji by. Surveyor Fen>M^Uer.j,^lt i shows the mines, gravel beds,- bedrock , lines, diteh,es, streams, roads, and villages along the. lines ,. of the .ancient (blue , lead ; leading, from Fqre,st .City and'Minn.esota, iri Sierra county,. to Snp.w> Point,. mrNief vada county, , and, along-, the line do wn; ' as fa^.as, North. , Bloomfield. , It 1 glv;es.the location of ev.eryminei and every mining claim on the- route, ,,all,,the levels ffrom point to point, and .shows the incline, or. ; pitch- of.the channelj.ajnd, ; other, details. Some, of the chums,pa the w.est rim. of the ! supposed channel,, at. A tunnel is also being run, to tap the shaft at. a .point,, 2Qo. feet below the surface for- drainage. The tunnel will' ,be/ about' 1000,. feet in length. The .Nevada Company, a little further,, down, are running a tunnel 'to, tap their ( clai}n, whichjwill be over. 2000 feet in length when comf pleted, which will 1 allow all,their,-ground-to ,be washed through, and will .afford out- . let to other claims at the back of them,' iwhen their ground is worked out. Watt, JDibble, and. Co. are,., sin king, a shaft on' their claim, which -is, located; about .four miles below Snow Point, on the north side of Bloody Run .Creek, .and which covers an area of over two .miles .on the line of the channel. It., is expected they will have to sink about 300 feet. ,to get" to bedrock. Other work is also being done on other claims on the line. Most of the ground is so located, .that it- will have to' be worked by drifting; which, is, regarded by many to be as profitable a 1 way as any other ; particularly where the banks above j the channel are. of such , great depth as they. are on this -.channel.. : The developments being made, by these companies will soon demonstrate the great value of that district, and will, induce capitalists elsewhere to seek it for profitable investment.
