THE QUEENSTOWN REVIEW. [BY Telegraph.]

(from, our own correspondent.}

Queenstqwn, April 3rd. Sir John Eichardson has allowed me to state that -the whole demonstration has in 'his opinion passed off creditably, and reflected honour upon these concerned. At the review yesterday the men's endurance was taxed, and they, atood the exertion well. The sham fight was skilfully' managed by Captains Hey wood and Hannah, Nothing could be more perfect. Every arrangement was excellently carried out. A few grumblers exist. Mr Manders did all he could to make things pleasant, but his task was a light one. After the review to-day the companies formed into square, and numerous prizes were presented. Mrs Warren (the Mayoress] handed over the prizes. Mayor W arren made the best speech yet delivered by him, and alluded to the general advantages arising from these meetings, and claims for the Colonial prize firing being held here u?.xt year. lie considered this only the stepping-stone to something more important. Our magnificent lake, fine climate, and grand scenery justified such a desirable consummation. With the w ! nt °n railway open, any meeting could be held here, as the accommodation is equal to all requirements. The men had good aticommodation.^ Strict martial law under Mutiny Acb was in force and was obeyed, an« garrison duty was strictly carried out.
