The steamer Balclutha Was again placed at the convenience of the excursionists, who were safely landed. The train, which .was speedily crowded, started at 5.8 p.m., and reached Milton at 6. 0. Owing to the transfer of a carriage, it was 6.36 before the train left Milton. Greytown was reached at 7.39, Mosgiel 8.10, Caversham 8.53, and Dunedin 9.3 p.m. Some lamps were placed in the various carriages at Mosgiel, but several excursionists had already been using candles, which were much appreciated.
