There is no alteration in breadstuffs. Farmers are holding back their wheat, in anticipation of an advance. August 23rd. Hewitt, the pedestrian, ran half a mile in Imin. 33isecs. to-day. This is said to be the fastest time on record. He staked £25 to £23 to do the distance in 1 mm. 55isecs.
