Napier, August 18th.

Mr Lord charged Mr Maddock with assault in the Resident Magistrate's Court to-day. The Magistrates said that they considered that the articles in the Telegraph gave provocation, and fined Mr Maddock 10s. The decision of the Bench was received with applause.
