Fat Stock.— About 100 head cattle -were yarded, principally inferior quality and light weights, all of which were cleared at prices ranging from 15s to 25-j per lOOlbs, fully the latter figure being obtainable for <m« pen of prime quality. We quote fair to prime beef at 20s to 25s per lOOlbs. Only about 440 sheep were brought forward, also inferior, the prices realised being no criterion of tho value of really good mutton. This we quote as follows ; — Prime half-breds, 3. J ,d ; merino, 2/d to 3d per 11). We have placed several lots for forward delivery at a slight advance on these rates.
Store Sheep.— We have no transactions to report, but have enquiries for merino wothord and half-breds, any of which offering in accessible localities would meet with buyers at rates considerably beyond our late quotations. ■Store Cattle.- At our salf at Clutha Ferry on the 1 1th hist. , we placed a few head mixed at 300 to 42s fid. Beyond this we have heard of no transactions.
Wool. — Telegrams via Suez report favourably on the progress of tin- June-July sales, but until receipt of advices, but little importance can be attached to the advance quoted. in the local market, there is some slight enquiry for good scoured parcels, but we have not heard of any changing hands.
Tallow.— A few tons were sold at auction, at from £2S for medium mixed, to £31 for fair mutton.
