STOCK AND PRODUCE REPORTS. Messrs Wright, Stkphenson, and do, report: —

Pat Cattle.— None were yarded, but the trade are well supplied by cattle purohased privately. We sold privately 31 head extra prime quality at L 9 10s eaoh, equal to 22s per 1001b. We quote prime quality 20s per 1001b ; middling do, 17b 6d. Fat Sheep.— The numbers in have been equal to requirements. We sold 900 at ljd per lb, whioh figure may be taken as markot quotation for prime quality. Fat Lambs. — None came forward.

Store Cattle. —No transactions. We have several fine lota for sale, bat buyers exhibit little inclination to operate. We quote 3to 4 year old bullocks, L 3 5s to L 3 10s eaoh ; mixed lots, L 2 10s. Store Sheep.— The quantity offering !• not equal to the demand. We have enquiries for merino and half-bred wethers, 4 and 6-

tooth merino ewes, and half-bred lambs. Our sales oomprise 1600 half-bred lambs at 4s 6d each, 1000 merino do at 3s 3d, 2000 merino wethers, 4 and 6-tooth, at 4s 6d. We Quote merino wethers, 4, 6, and 8 tooth, 4s 3d to 4s 6d ; ewes, 4 and 6 tooth, 3s 9d to 4s : full-mouthed, 3s ; lambs, 3s 3d to 3« 6dj half-bred w©thers,-2, 4, and 6-tooth, 6s 6d to 0s j lambs, 4s 6d to 6a.

Horses.— Our market Is overstocked with horses of an inferior stamp, which are difficult to move exoept at very low rates. A taob of good fresh draught and light harness horses would meet with ready sale at f ir prices. We quote first-class draughts L4O to L 45 ; middling do, L 25 to L3O ; saddle and light harness horses, LlB to L 26 ; middling do, Ll2 to Ll4 ; inferior, L3to L 6. Grain.— There is no change to report. *

Messrs Darmt, Stewart, and Co., re* port :—

Fat Oattle.— We have no alteration to note in the state of the market, the demand continuing slight, and prices without any marked Improvement. Quotations, prime quality beef, 17s 6d to 18s 6d ; medium, 15s per lOOlbs.

Fat Sheep — To this class the same remarks apply. Much in expeoted from the operations of the Meat Preserving Company, shertly about to commence, which we are hopeful will at least have tie effect of ob> viating the gluts more especially of fat sheep, to which the Duneoin market has hitherto been so subject. Our quotations sure, prime quality, l|d ; medium, lsd per lb.

Weekly F»t Stook Market.— lt has long been felt that the interests of both buyers »nd idlers were prejudiced through the nonexistence of a fixed market day for fat stook, not only on account of the time unneoesaarily loit in attending sales, on any or all days of the week, but alto on account of the uncer. tainty that preyailed as to the supplies. Having this in view, and also the faot that the Meat Preserving Company, whose re* quiremeats will be large, have signified their desire to purchase on the spot when praoti* cable, the agents in tows have arranged to hold their auction nalea on Thursdays only of each week. The establishment of a market thus, will, we are confident, be attended with excellent results.

Store Sheep. — We have still numerous enquiries from the South for half-breds, merino lambs, and wethers of all ages ; but have no transactions of importance to report. We quote 2-tooth wethers at 3a 9d ; 4, 6, and 8- tooth do at 4s 3d to 4a 6d each.

Store Cattle.— 3 to 4 years old bullooks are enquired for, but no sales have transpired. Wool. — The intelligence by the mail is unimportant. The quantity for offer at the February series to commence on the 2nd of that month was estimated not to exceed 100,000 bales, and hopes were entertained that, on account of the limited quantity, the dosing rates of November would be main' t&ined, should European affairs assume no more untoward aspeot in the meantime. Our sale, postponed from Wednesday last, will be held on the 22nd met.

Flax.— Our London agents report a continued demand for ordinary and well dressed sorts, which descriptions were scarce. The prices of principal lots sold during December ranged from Ll4 to L3O 10s.
