bers being present. Mr Lloyd was chairman. After Mr Reid had gone over carefully the chief political topics now agitating the community, and answering very satisfactorily all questions put to him, it was proposed by Mr James Runciman, seconded by Mr Gilinor, and carried unanimously, " That Mr Reid was the fit and proper person for the office of Superintendent." After the meeting three hearty cheers were given for Mr Reid.
