WASTE LANDS BOABD.
The usual meeting of the Waste Lands Board was held on Wednesday last — the Chief Commissioner was in the chair, and there were present Messrs Reid and Hughes.
Mr P. F. Stoddarfc applied to purchase 3 roods between sections 6 and 7, block XII, Hampden. To be offered by auction at L 25 per aore. Mr James Doughty, on behalf of Mr H. Marryatt and Mr D. Thompson, applied to purchase, under the 64th clause of the Waste Lands Act, section 8, block X, N. Tuaki'oto. To be sold as being land of Bpecial value, having been so long detained from sale, at the upset price of 21s per acre. Mr James Doughty, for Mr M. Dale, applied to purchase sections 3, 4, 5, 0, and 7, block XXLj Havelock, under the 27th clause of the Waste Lands Act. Declined.
Mr James Doughty, for Borland and Wilson, applied for reconsideration by the Board of its decision in reference to the grant of land on lease for saw- mill purposes, near the Blackcleugh burn, the portion granted having been worked out by Buchan and Co., when they were paying no license to the Government, and the granting of the piece of bush as originally applied for. Declined. Mr William Murcott applied for section 37, block I, Otepopo, as land of special value. Declined.
Mr E. De Oarie requested the-Board to have sections Ito 8, block IX, Mooraki district, offered under the 35th clause. Postponed. Also, that sections 17, 18, and 23, block VI, Otego Peninsula ; sections 1 and 9, block I, North Harbour and Blueskin ; sections 13, lof 14, 2of 28, 30, 2 of 31, 1 of 37, and 38, block 11, North Harbour aud Blueskio, should be offered under the same clause. Declined. The proposed new conditions of application for land, under clause 35, Waste Lands Aot, 1866, were approved. To apply only to such lands as have been submitted to auction already. Such lands to be advertised a month.
The letter of the Mayor of Alexandra, suggesting that the sale of that township should be hold at its camp, wns considered, and the suggestion was approved, viz., the sale to beheld at Alexandra.
Mr Warden Pyke's letter, as to the upset price of Clyde, was rofurred to tho Provincial Solicitor,
Mr David 0. Cameron's application to purchase seotioim 66, 07, and 08, block I, Shotover district, held under leaae, was •anotioned. To be paid for in one month. Mr J. G. Chappie, and Mr William Theyers, applied to purchase sections 13, 14, 15, 16, and 17, block I, Alexandra. Postponed. With regard to the townships of Hyde, Hamilton, Naseby, Roxburgh £, and Wakefield, it m* determined that unsold surveys should be cancelled, excepting re* serves. The Government to bo rooommended to abandon educational roaerves in the township of Roxburgh E. With regard to section 66, blcck IV, Moeraki, no objection on tho part of the department of Roads and Works having been made to its sale, it was determined that it should bo sold as land of special value, having bean so lon« retained from sale. Upset price to bo 21s pot acre.
