Witness Office, Thursday Evening. Produce markets still, so far as actual transactions are concerned, very quiet ; for a'l items, a languid demand only is apparent. At the mills, Ll7 10s to LlB is quoted for town-made flour ; but only trade parcels moving at the price. Wheats stand at 7s ; and good samples of malting barley, 4s 3d to 4s 6d. Oats quoted at 2s 6d, with greater firmness. We note stocks as affected by the arrival of the Sarita, from San Francisco, with flour ; and the despatch of the Salamander, for Melbourne, with a rather heavy shipment of grain. Potatoes are again arriving in moderate parcels ; but at the value, L 6 to to L 6 10s, very little doing. DUNEDIN WHOLESALE PRICES CURRENT. Provincial flour, £18 ; in small bags, 10s extra. Rice, Patna, undressed, £30 ; dressed, Java, £34 to £37 per ton. Tea, duty paid, common, Is 9d ; good medium, 2s 3d to 2s 6d ; superior kinds, 2a 9d to 3s 3 ; boxes, 30a to 365 ; orange pekoe, 2s 9d to 3s 3d. I Messrs Wright, Robertson, and Co. held a sale of cattle on Thursday week, at Mr Lindsay's stock-yards, N.E. Valley. The weather was all that could be desired, and there was a very numerous attendance. Some excellent quiet dairy cows were quickly disposed of at very satisfactory prices. Twenty found ready purchasers at Ll3 to Ll9 10s ; steers, L 6 15s to L 8 15s ; useful harness horses, Lls to L 29. A sale of fat cattle was held on Tuesday, at Messrs Driver, Maclean, and Co's yards, Kaikorai. About 25 head were brought forward and were disposed of at very fair prices, best pairs averaging from Lls to Ll6 per head; inferior and light weights bringing from Ll2 to Ll4. j DUNEDIN PRODUCE REPORT ! Messrs. Rennte & Macgregor, Millers and Produce Merchants, Jetty street, report :—: — We have to report another" week of dull I demand for all cereals, except barley. Wheat is offering in small parcels, but the i demand is orly for town consumption. Easier terms have to be acceded to on the part of sellers. All the oats offering, if in condition, can be placed at last week's quotations. Superior samples of barley are held lat enhanced rates, and in good demand. Potatoes, for the present, seem altogether neglected. Late importations have interfered with the confidence of buyers ; nor are holders as sanguine aa they were. The following are the prices current : — Wheat. — Milling, 6s to 7s per bushel. Oats.— 2s 3d to 2s 6d per bushel. Barley. — Fine malting, 4s to 4a 6d per bushel.
