DUNEDIN PRODUCE REPORT. April 7. 1865.
The market remains dull for frrain, as well as other produce. Wheat has been pnrehased at 6* 9d to 7s, and we have heard of one or two transactions at a lower figure. Very little has been doing in oate, and less than usual in potatoes. Onions are worth £18 to £20. Apples are in good supply. Barley, (new crop).— ss 3d. Bran.— ls 9d. Carrots.— £4 to £6. Turnips.— £3 to £5. Chaff.— Supply equal to demand. We quote £5Gram. — None. Hay.— The market is well supplied with hay of the best quality, chiefly from Green Island and the Taieri, which* sells at £5 to £6 per ton. Maize. — The market is better supplied. Small lots are worth 5s 6d to os 9d. Oats. — Provincial, 3s. Potatoes are in very little demand, unless for town consumption the small farms around the mining townships being sufficient to supply local requirements for a short time. Price, £3 10s to £5. Onions. -Good, picked samples will fetch from 18s to 20s per bushel. The demand is small. Stocks, however, are at present very limited. Wheat.- The price offered for Provincial is 6s 6d to 7s per bushel, but many of the farmers are unwilling to sell at those figures.
